Thank Him For The Blessings
Well, Summer is definitely here. It is only early June, and already we have had a handful of
90 Degree days. I know to some of you that may seem like nothing, but for here that is pretty
warm for early June. I'll tell you what it does though. It makes me thankful. Just this afternoon
I walked in the house today (it was about 94 or 95 I think) and the first thing I said was "Thank
you Lord for air condtion." We take it for granted too often. We also have an abundence of
clean water to drink. I know in some countries they don't have that. I remember someone telling
me once, that they were out of the country and were they were you could get a soda, but you had
to drink it hot because they did not have any ice cubes there. Now there is something really
simple that we never think about, but wouldn't we miss it if it were gone.
We need to stop and thank God every day for His blessings on us. We live in a land where we
are free to do that, and that freedome alone we should be thanking Him for daily. We see evrything
in the media these days telling us how bad everything is, and yet we still have more than many
other coutries today. We have just been spoiled with what we do have. The fact that you are able
to read this right now means that you have a computer, probably in your home. There are those
who probably only dream of something like that.
I recently read a book by a man who was in a terrible car accident. For months the only thing
he could do was lie in bed on his back. Others had to help him do everything. One of the biggest
things I took from that book was how much we never even think about the little things that we are
able to do every day for ourselves. We are so blessed. If you are a child of God let me tell you, He
loves you and He only wants the very best for you. Please do not fail to thank Him for it. I once told
someone that I had heard stories of people who were in need, either financialy or they just needed
a meal, and it seemed how God miraculously met their needs. I found myself wondering why I had
never experianced anything like that. Then God spoke to my heart and said,"because you never
had to experiance it. I have always met your needs before you were in a place to need a miracle."
Well, talk about humbling.
So let us continually thank God for His rich blessings. I promise you, if you look for them, it may
surprise you how many you will find.
Keep On Praising Him,
Brad Young
